Incline nonprofit awards 4 scholarships for 2014

Special to the Bonanza

As a result of our successful fundraiser in 2013, OverAchievers — a Nevada 501c3 nonprofit based in Incline Village — awarded a total of four scholarships in 2014.

The recipients are recent graduates of Incline, Reno and Carson high schools. The recipients have demonstrated their excellence in academics, a significant community service contribution, and the ability to overcome challenging circumstances to succeed.

Each scholarship is valued at $1,000. The 2014 recipients are:

Chloe Breider (Incline, 2011): Currently attending Wellesley College in Massachusetts majoring in Economics and Finance.

Jeffrey Mitchell (Incline, 2010): Currently attending the University of Nevada Reno majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Business.

Ania Calvillo-Mason (Reno, 2014): Currently attending the University of Nevada Reno.

Dustin Dutcher (Carson, 2014): Currently attending the University of Nevada Reno majoring in Biochemistry and Microbiology.

The OverAchievers Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to Northern Nevada High School graduates for continuing university, college or trade school education.

We host one fundraiser per year to support our scholarship fund. The 2015 fundraiser is a three-day golf tournament scheduled for Aug. 20-23 in Reno/Lake Tahoe.
