Under a warm Tahoe sun on June 14, Tahoe Family Solutions hosted its second annual Customer Appreciation Barbecue at the TFS Thrift Store at the Village Center.
Close to 200 community members were greeted with complimentary hot dogs, chips and cold glasses of lemonade in appreciation for the ongoing local support of the TFS Thrift Store.
“The TFS Thrift Store is truly a community endeavor,” said Viki Boyes, store manager. “From our team of dedicated volunteers, to the diverse and quality donations we receive, to the growing base of customers we have shopping our racks, the TFS Thrift Store is successful because of the support of our local community.”
The TFS Thrift Store is open Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and welcomes new and gently used goods. Furniture pickups are available by request.
Proceeds from the store support Tahoe Family Solutions’ signature programs in counseling, camping and education.
“The TFS Thrift Store is a primary source of income for our organization and provides key financial support to our programs in counseling, camping and education,” said Robin Glasgow, TFS executive director. “The Thrift Store has played a leading role in allowing us to grow each of our programs which directly impact local families that need us most.”
The store is located at 797 Southwood Blvd.; contact Boyes at 775-833-4414 for more information or if you would like to volunteer.
