Village Notes: What’s happening in Incline Village
January 8, 2014
Oh well, snow was a nice idea but we will just have to make the best of our winter without the real stuff. Thank goodness we have snow machines to help at the resorts, and I think it might be time to install a few in the village as well. But we only have 60 some days until spring!
The National Winter Trail Days at Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe Center on Jan. 11 has been canceled due to a lack of snow.
Remember to support the Incline High School Cheerleaders. Hacienda de La Sierra is holding a fundraiser starting at 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 13. Go enjoy a great meal and support the 13 young ladies. And if you want to see the cheerleaders in action attend the basketball game at Incline High on Friday, Jan. 10.
The Tahoe Nevada Chapter of AAUW will hold its monthly meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center. This will feature Dr. Antonia Neubauer, president of Myths and Mountains Travel and founder of READ Global. To attend, email Kelly Neville at firstname.lastname@example.org or call Barbara Pulver at 989-859-4860 no later than Monday, Jan. 13.
The annual Father/Daughter dance on Friday, Feb. 7 at the Tahoe Biltmore is a very special event and can go on without snow. Tahoe SAFE Alliance and the Tahoe Biltmore sponsor this fun event. Tickets are available at http://www.tahoesafealliance.org or call 775-298-0010.
Parasol’s AmeriCorps program is accepting applications for AmeriCorps host sites for 2014-2015. To learn more about host sites or to fill out the application visit http://www.parasol.org or call Allison Eybel at 775-298-0186.
I have been promised bowling news for next week, so watch for information about the next bowling tournament.
Birthdays to celebrate this week: North Lake Tahoe Bonanza Marketing Consultant Michelle Geary and Marcie Johnson on Jan. 10. Cindy McClelland on Jan. 11; Karen Kuehnis on Jan. 12; Chet Curtis and Candace Healy on Jan. 14. Happy Birthday!
The best deal and steal this week is at Diamond Peak. IVGID Community Appreciation Days will end on Friday, Jan. 10, at Diamond Peak. So go and enjoy now. But don’t forget Learn to Ski and Ride Week begins Monday, Jan. 13. Still lots of fun at Diamond Peak.
As always send in your birthdays, anniversaries, and news, along with the best deals or steals you can find, to email@example.com.
