TRUCKEE, Calif. — The Truckee Place-Based Marketing Initiative won the American Marketing Association’s Best Brand/Rebrand award on June 23 at the Reno Chapter’s ACE Awards ceremony.

“This award recognizes the quality and results of a Truckee Brand process that would not have been possible without the funding, vision and commitment provided by the Truckee Tomorrow, Place-Based Marketing Public/Private Partners,” said Lynn Saunders CEO and President, Truckee Chamber of Commerce.

While the primary objective of the Truckee Place-Based Marketing Initiative is a revamped Truckee.com website, in May the chamber took a big step in its initiative, revealing the new Truckee Brand Identity, logo and tagline: “Base Camp for a Big Life.”

“Community participation guided the process, providing input to ensure we were on track and delivering an accurate brand identity that reflected the unique character of Truckee,” added Colleen Dalton, Marketing & Communications Director and Project Manager.

Now in its 28th year, the Ace Awards is an annual awards program hosted by the Reno-Tahoe chapter of the American Marketing Association recognizing marketing excellence from within the community. Learn more about AMA at renoama.com/ace-awards.

The Truckee Place-Based Marketing Initiative is a project managed by the Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce and funded by Truckee Tomorrow — a partnership of the Truckee Chamber, town of Truckee, Truckee Downtown Merchants Association and 20 private partner businesses and organizations.

This collective of civic and community leaders are dedicated to the wellbeing and vibrancy of Truckee for generations to come.

The Place-Based Marketing Initiative (Brand and Truckee.com website) is the first Truckee Tomorrow project to be funded and accomplished by the 2015-2016 public/private partners.
