May 15, 2013
TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. — The Center for Spiritual Living Tahoe Truckee, in Tahoe City, is especially pleased to announce its new spiritual leader and minister, Rev. Liz Luoma, or, as she prefers, Rev. Liz. An installation ceremony is slated for May 18 at 2 p.m.
Rev. Liz has been an active, dedicated, licensed, professional prayer practitioner since 1998. She earned a bachelor’s degree in speech communications and human services, and achieved her master’s degree in spiritual psychology in 2000. Rev. Liz became a licensed minister through Emerson Theological Institute in 2004. She worked as a mobile minister for five years, teaching hundreds of individuals in multiple churches and organizations throughout Orange and Los Angeles Counties.
In September 2009, Liz began work as a staff minister at the Center for Spiritual Living – Newport Mesa, Calif. with Dr. Jim Turrell. Rev. Liz continued to grow in her ministerial capacity, completing her ministerial training with International Centers for Spiritual Living in August 2011.
Founded in 1986, the Center for Spiritual Living Tahoe Truckee is presently upstairs in the Tahoe City Marina building at 700 North Lake Blvd. It is a spiritual community dedicated to empowering individuals to discover an inner power that has the ability to transform their lives and make the world a better place. The focus of this loving community is in celebrating life and the unique preciousness of all beings.
This community believes there are many paths to God and every religion and path has value and purpose. Each and every path is honored, recognizing all paths end in love. With a variety of services available, such as classes, meditation, and special events, the center meets the needs of families, singles, children, adults, and seniors.
A long-standing community at North Shore (about 25 years). The faith is based on a belief system in the power of the mind, guided by spirit, to create a better world while we are here, and was initiated by Ernest Holmes in the early 1900s. It’s sometimes referred to as New Thought. All are welcome to visit.
Sunday service and children’s program at 10 a.m., Meditation Group on Thursdays, 9-10:15 a.m. Other classes and groups offered. For information call 530-581-5117 or visit tahoecsl.org. Rev. Liz Luoma may be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
