North Tahoe crime logs: March 1-15

Below are select incidents from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office press log for March 1-15.

March 1



• At 11 p.m. on Old Mill Road at Fabian Way, a female was found in the driver’s seat of her vehicle that she crashed into a ditch. She was turned over to California Highway Patrol for driving under the influence.



March 2

• At 2:30 a.m. on Highway 28 at Jeffery Way in Tahoe City, a male subject was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspicion of DUI.

• At 5 a.m. on the 300 Block of River Road in Tahoe City, deputies responded to a report of a male locked in the bathroom for 45 minutes. The male was contacted but couldn’t remember where he had been of how he got there. The subject was arrested for public intoxication.

• At 10:30 a.m. on the 500 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect entered a business and stole $400 in outdoor clothing.

• At 12:30 p.m. on the 5000 Block of West Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect stole $1,400 worth of camera equipment from a business.

• At 12:45 p.m. on the 2000 Block of Alpine Meadows Road in Tahoe City, an unknown suspect entered business and stole $1,600 worth of camera equipment.

• At 1 p.m. on the 10400 Block of Golden Pine in Truckee, an unknown suspect removed ski equipment from victim’s unlocked vehicle. The theft occurred sometime overnight.

• At 3 p.m. on the 10400 Block of Golden Pine in Truckee, an unknown suspect stole car keys from victim’s unlocked vehicle sometime overnight.

March 3

• At 5:30 a.m. on the 3210 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, a male subject was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

March 4

• At 3:35 a.m. on Highway 89 at Sequoia Avenue in Tahoe City, a male subject was cited and released on two outstanding warrants out of Sacramento County.

March 5

• At 12:15 a.m. on the 3200 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Tahoe City, a male subject was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspected DUI.

• At 10:45 a.m. on the 8300 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, an unknown suspect entered business and removed $1,500 in camera equipment.

• At 11 p.m. on the 1900 Block of Squaw Valley Road in Olympic Valley, a female was creating a disturbance in a hotel lobby and was asked to leave. The female suspect hit the employee in the chin and slapped him in the face. Officers arrived and arrested the suspect for public intoxication and assault. The victim does not wish to prosecute.

March 7

• At 12 p.m. on the 8000 Block of Steelhead Avenue in Kings Beach, officers took a report of identity theft.

March 8

• At 5 p.m. on the 8500 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, a female suspect was caught on video shoplifting at a business. The female was later contacted and arrested for burglary.

• At 10:30 p.m. on the 5000 Block of North Lake Boulevard in Carnelian Bay, one male subject assaulted another male because he “stunk up the bathroom” at a local restaurant.

March 9

• At 1 a.m. on Highway 89 at National in Tahoe Vista, a male subject was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspected DUI.

• At 1:15 a.m. on Highway 28 at Star Harbor in Tahoe City, a male subject was cited and released on a Placer County warrant.

• At 3:45 a.m. on the 7600 Block of Highlands View in Truckee, an unknown suspect took a cab ride home and fled into the building without paying.

March 11

• At 2:30 p.m. on the 6000 Block of Northstar Drive in Truckee, sometime in the past month, an unknown suspect entered an office and took over $1,000 in cash.

• At 6:30 p.m. on the 86000 Block of Salmon Avenue in Kings Beach, a male subject was booked on two warrants out of Longs Beach.

• At 11:15 p.m. on Coon at Rainbow Avenue in Kings Beach, a male subject was taken into custody for public intoxication.

• At 11:30 p.m. on Highway 276 at Truckee Airport Road, a male subject was stopped for not maintaining his lane. He was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspected DUI.

March 12

• At 11:15 a.m. on the 200 Block of Chipmunk Street in Kings Beach, a male subject was cited and released on a Nevada County warrant.

• At 11:35 p.m. on the 200 Block of Chipmunk Street in Kings Beach, another male was contacted for an outstanding warrant. The subject was arrested and booked.

• At 3:30 p.m. on the 5000 Block of Northstar Drive in Truckee, a male subject was arrested for stealing a pair of goggles from a sporting goods store.

March 13

• At 2 a.m. on Highway 28 at Bear Street in Kings Beach, a male subject was turned over to California Highway Patrol for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

• At 2:30 p.m. on the 8600 Block of Rainbow Avenue in Kings Beach, a male subject was arrested for battery against his mother.

March 14

• At 1:30 a.m. on the 200 Block of Squaw Peak Road in Olympic Valley, a male subject fled from a taxi without paying the cab fare. Unfortunately for him, he hopped into his vehicle and was caught driving under the influence of alcohol. He was turned over to California Highway Patrol for DUI.
