The Boy Scouts of local Troop 37 recently completed a six-week program focused on earning merit badges — achievement awards in specific subject areas.

The 10 Scouts who attended earned a total of 22 merit badges during the program which consisted of two focused days of on-site instruction in Carson City and six weeks in which to complete homework for each badge sought.

The badges earned included Aviation, Citizenship in the Community/Nation/World, Cooking, Communications, Environmental Science, Game Design, Geocaching, and Nuclear Science.

These and other merit badges and rank advancement awards were presented to the Scouts at their Court of Honor on May 19.
