Support Tahoe Truckee musicians in Reno Philharmonic Youth Symphony Orchestra
April 23, 2013
TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. — Give where you live and support local student musicians. On Thursday, April 25, the Reno Philharmonic is participating in Nevada’s Big Give to support the Youth Symphony Orchestra’s June 2013 concert tour of Seattle and Vancouver, B.C. Six high school students from Truckee and two from Incline Village are members of this elite orchestra and they need your help to make this concert tour a success. This will be the orchestra’s first international tour and it is crucial that no musician is left behind. The goal is to raise $20,000 in a single day in a 2:1 match against a recent donation of $10,000. The scholarship needs for individual musicians is higher than ever before, so the Reno Philharmonic looks to rally support from family, friends, businesses and the community to make sure they can make this concert tour a reality for their amazingly talented Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Violinists Camille Hartley, Teagan Pado, Zoe Willis, and Sam Zabell, along with bass trombonist John Humphreys, and percussionist Kevin Cross, represent Truckee. Violinist Valerie Pober and Rachel Pober, who play flute and piccolo, are from Incline Village, Nev. Support these fabulous musicians with a contribution through Nevada’s Big Give directed to the Reno Philharmonic Youth Symphony Orchestra Tour Match.
No magazine subscriptions, cookie dough, wrapping paper or raffle tickets to buy — just point and click at http://www.nvbiggive.org and more than 97 percent of your donation will go to the organization of your choice.
