TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. — JAX at the Tracks owner Bud Haley has added an unusual item to the JAX and the Tracks menu — a burger and a bike combo for $19,999.

“I was planning to sell the bike and thought it would be a fun thing to have a one-of-a-kind classic chopper in a one-of-a-kind classic diner,” said Haley. “Then we thought we could make it a fundraiser for the High Fives. They have created a great culture that mirrors ours at JAX — we encourage people to live a healthy life while acting locally and thinking globally.”

The motorcycle is a one-of-a-kind El Bruto 127 custom power chopper with an S&S motor. It boasts 140 horse power and 140 foot-pounds of torque, a Corbin seat and 9-inch rear tire. “It is extremely fast and fun to ride,” said Haley. “Someone could be the envy at Street Vibrations!”

The bike is insured for $25,000. Haley will donate $5,500 from the burger and a bike combo sale to the High Fives Foundation.

High Fives Executive Director and Co-Founder Roy Tuscany said the donation will be used for the Winter Empowerment Fund, a service of the High Fives Non-Profit Foundation that provides support for alternative healing and therapies, rehabilitative and adaptive equipment to athletes who suffer a life altering injury while pursuing a dream in the winter action sports community. Funds are allocated to assist disabled athletes in the recovery process and help achieve goals in the sports they love.

“Working with JAX on this promotion and the others we have going with the diner is a true blessing,” said Tuscany. “We are able to share our mission with the thousands of customers who come to the diner weekly. To be able to work with a local business owner that is so dedicated to support local organizations makes this a fantastic partnership.”

JAX is housed in an original 1940s diner next to Truckee’s downtown railroad tracks at 10144 West River St. For more information on JAX at the Tracks visit http://www.jaxtruckee.com. For more information on the burger and a bike combo, call 530-550-7450.
