Art meeting technology in Truckee social media event next week

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Residents are invited to the first event in the 2014 Nevada County Arts Professional Artists’ Salon Series — “Get Your Social Media On” with Jordan Layman, taking place June 17 in Truckee and June 18 in Grass Valley.
The presentations are designed to help people develop an integrated social media strategy across a variety of platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube, Instagram and more.
Layman is webmaster at Cal State Chico and co-founder of Idea Fab Labs, a hybrid makerspace/art gallery intended to be a cultural center for blurring the lines between art and technology. In addition, he is Social Media and Webmaster for MaMuse (www.mamuse.org), the manager at BETA (www.betaisfun.com), and Social Media Manager at Winchester Goose (www.thewinchestergoose.com).
In his presentation, Layman will address: How you can connect with your fanbase; How you can employ effective sales strategies on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter and more; How targeted web marketing can help you to reach customers around the world, for free; How you can stay on the forefront of social media in an ever-changing environment; How to be authentic and provide value to your customers; and social media etiquette.
On-line registration is $15 for NCArts members, $20 for nonmembers, and free for students with a valid student ID. Prices at the door will be $20 for NCArts members and $25 for nonmembers.
