Hit the MF American with IRIE and High Fives
The High Fives Foundation is excited to work with IRIE Rafting Co. to present High Fives Hits the Middle Fork on Friday, July 25. High Fives has worked with IRIE the past few years to host the CR Johnson Birthday Rafting Trip. This year both parties decided to ramp things up and take a crew to the Class IV-V Middle Fork American River. The discounted trip will cost $99 with proceeds benefiting the CR Johnson Healing Center. Meet at The Rock, 7 a.m., IRIE Rafting Co., 11253 Brockway Road, Ste. 103, Truckee. Register your Relay for Life team
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Truckee gives everyone in the community a chance to help the organization save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. Register your team today at http://www.relayforlife.org/truckeetahoeca or by calling 1-800-227-2345. The event will have a Carnival theme in the afternoon for additional family fun. Each year the event offers top-notch entertainment from local bands including the Deckheads.
Former and current cancer patients, those who have lost a loved one to cancer, families, businesses, faith-based and civic organizations, and anyone wanting to make a difference in the fight against cancer are invited to take part. Relay For Life will take place from 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 19 until 9 a.m. on Sunday, July 20 at Truckee High School.
Last year the community raised more than $60,000 with 25 teams and 47 cancer survivors.
Relay For Life events are held overnight as individuals and teams camp out at an athletic track, park, or fairground, with the goal of keeping at least one team member on the track or pathway at all times.

Tahoe Sierra Century Ride slated for September
Benefiting North Tahoe’s middle and high school music programs, this fall favorite has earned praise for its scenic routes, challenging hill climbs (60- and 100- mile routes), full support services and legendary after-party featuring awesome food, drink and live student music. The Tahoe Sierra Century Ride is slated for Saturday, Sept. 13.
All of the routes start and finish in the Village at Squaw Valley. The 30-mile route is a novice ride between Squaw Valley and the west end of Donner Lake. The 60-mile route heads to Donner Lake, then climbs over Donner Pass, along Highway 40 and follows it to Big Bend before returning to Squaw Valley. The century ride follows the north shore of Lake Tahoe, then crosses Brockway Summit to Tahoe Donner and Donner Lake before climbing Donner Summit and returning to Squaw Valley.

Acupuncture Happy Hour
Truckee acupuncturist Kaila Cruttenden, owner of Elemental Back & Body, will host an acupuncture happy hour Thursdays, 4-6 p.m. Treatments will consist of 20-minute auricular acupuncture designed specifically to boost energy, improve sleep and alleviate stress. Summer dancing at InnerRhythms
InnerRhythms is open this summer with an explosion of dance classes, camps, and dance intensives for boys and girls. Hip Hop camps, jazz and contemporary classes plus Ballet classes and week-long ballet workshops are open for enrollment. The Musical Theatre instructor is offering a “Triple Threat Camp” in mid-August with singing/acting/dancing fun for ages 9+.
