Obituary: Maryanne Bullock Ingemanson
October 9, 2013
A devoted mother, cherished friend, and a dynamic business woman, Maryanne B. Ingemanson, departed this world on October 2, 2013 in her home with family at her side following a noble battle with lung cancer. She showed a rare sense of courage and dignity throughout her life and final days. She was 80.
At the time of her passing, she was well aware that her days on earth were drawing to an end, and she lovingly reassured those around her that she was ready for her next journey, an act that stands as a comforting source of solace for all who mourn her loss.
Born in Atlanta Georgia on August 13, 1933, she was daughter to Foster A. and Marion S. Bullock and sister to the late David Bullock. Beloved wife of 46 years to the late Dr. Larry D. Ingemanson, Maryanne was a proud mother of Kathy Nelson-Burns and Dean Robert Ingemanson and is also survived by six grandchildren (Melinda K. Safdarzadeh, Andrea Nelson-Shestopalov, Carolyn Nelson, and Laura Nelson, Megan Lynn Ingemanson and Morgan Leigh Ingemanson) and three great grandchildren (Bailey Chairez-Nelson, Torsten Safdarzadeh and Tate Shestopalov).
Maryanne grew up in Sacramento and graduated in 1950 from McClatchy High School. In her early years, Maryanne was a classical concert pianist where she performed with major symphony orchestras worldwide. In 1953 she was honored with the Marie Morrissey Keith Award for the most outstanding young soloist in the United States and was the youngest person ever, at the age of 19, to be awarded Licentiate and Fellows Degrees from Trinity College in London. Prior to her real estate career, she devoted her talents to teaching music, lecturing and raising two children.
Ms. Ingemanson was well-known in Sacramento and Incline Village, NV business circles. She founded Ingemanson Enterprises in 1968, a real estate investment and development company.
After permanently relocating to Incline Village in 1984, Maryanne dedicated herself to many civic roles in her community such as keeping Incline Village Community Hospital open and staffed full time to establishing the Village League to Save Incline Village Assets. The community benefited from her involvement in other various philanthropic, political and social organizations. Ms. Ingemanson is remembered as charming and classy with a contagious laugh. Maryanne's passion was people, and she truly enjoyed being with family and friends throughout her life. With her radiant smile and grace, she had the ability to touch all of those with whom she came in contact.
She served on the board of Nevada Policy Research Institute where they said "when Maryanne speaks…we all listen!" Maryanne's strong character and determination, possessed an inexorable desire to bring her best to everything that she did. She was a true leader. To all who had the privilege of knowing her, Maryanne was an irreplaceable treasure.
