Obituary: Robert ‘Bob’ Van Amburg

Robert ‘Bob’ Van Amburg – 77, passed away at his home in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., on Oct. 11, 2012. He was born to the late Fred and Jessie Inman Van Amburg on Feb. 22, 1935 and is preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years, Gail Westington, and a daughter, Janette Van Amburg.Prior to moving to South Lake Tahoe, Bob was an operations manager for Red and White Fleet in San Francisco. He greatly enjoyed golfing and was an avid sports fan. Bob was best known by his family for his Famous Meatball Sandwiches, a legend in its own.His friendship and love will be deeply missed by all that knew him.He is survived by 2 daughters, Donna Hallum of Dandridge, Tenn., and Carol and Lowe Leasau of Livermore, Calif., two brothers, Bill (Loey) Van Amburg of El Cerrito, Calif., and Tom (Mary) Van Amburg of Los Angeles, also seven grandchildren, Lindsey Topete of San Jose, Calif., Kyle Schoolcraft of Brisbane, Calif., Alanna Leasau of El Paso, Texas, Tyler Leasau of Livermore, Calif., Michelle and Melissa Hallum and Colby Wyatt, all of Dandridge, Tenn. Two great-grandchildren, Dante & Lucas Gates, both of Dandridge, Tenn.Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 at Happy Homestead Cemetery in South Lake Tahoe.
