Letter to the editor: A special thanks from robotics team

A special thanks from robotics team

The Rolling Bots robotics team from Sierra Expeditionary Learning School (SELS) would like to thank community members and businesses, which helped make their trip to the National Championships possible.

We could not have made the trip to LegoLand to represent the Northern Nevada League of FLL without the help of our sponsors, which include: Tahoe Truckee Airport Community Partner, SELS Parent-Teacher Crew, Truckee Rotary, Truckee Lions Club, Truckee Optimist Club, Martis Camp, Plumas Bank, and the Galaxy Theatre in Reno.

To help fund their trip, the team shoveled snow for Tahoe Donner residents this winter, and received numerous donations.

The Rolling Bots team would also like to acknowledge and thank Dr. Swalander of Sierra Pet Clinic, Mike and Michaela Welch of Tahoe Dog Gear, and the Humane Society of Truckee Tahoe for giving expert advice on the project!

The Rolling Bots competed against 80 teams from all over the world (Japan, Guam, Puerto Rico, and Brazil), and it was an experience they will never forget. Community support is unwavering and they are very grateful.

Thank you,

Bob and Marcy Thompson
