Deckheads headline Truckee Sunrise Rotary Chili Cookoff entertainment

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Popular Truckee band The Deckheads will headline the entertainment at the 3rd Annual Truckee Chili Cookoff Sunday, June 26, 11 a.m. at the Truckee Regional Park.

Tickets for unlimited chili tasting are $10 for adults and free for children under 12, available from the California Welcome Center in the old Depot, any Sunrise Rotarian and at http://www.TruckeeChiliCookoff.org.

The Deckheads got their name from playing on the decks at local ski resorts years ago. Their music is a combination of country rock, alternative rock, Jimmy Buffett favorites and originals.



Returning for the third year, Pleasant Heads, the popular country-modern band from Reno, will also entertain.

The O. K. Chorale, the menand#8217;s barbershop group, specializing in harmony, comedy and generally great entertainment, will open the show.



There will also be a special appearance by The Railroad Regulators.

No festival would be complete without a full range of activities for the kids, from face painting to the Bouncy House, everyone will enjoy a day of family fun.

Tickets for unlimited chili tasting are $10 for adults and free for children under 12 and are available from the Truckee Donner Chamber in the old Depot, any Sunrise Rotarian and on the event Web site, http://www.TruckeeChiliCookoff.org.

Tickets will also be available at the event.

All proceeds benefit Truckee-North Tahoe programs addressing the needs of youth, economically disadvantaged and elderly. The Truckee Sunrise Rotary Club has been supporting our community since 1993.
