Opinion: Thanks to Placer supes for supporting Squaw project
Dear Placer County Supervisors,
We would like to acknowledge the difficult and competing interests that you had to weigh in your decision to support the Village at Squaw Valley Specific Plan.
Both the opponents and supporters were heartfelt in their positions. Squaw does that to us all.
As supporters of the project, we are committed to the future prosperity and well-being of our resort community. We now have a master plan to guide the creation of a meaningful Village to complement our great mountain. It represents a re-crafting of the 1983 General Plan which reflects community input, calls for more conservative growth and defines a path forward to a world-class, four-season destination resort.
We realize that our neighbors who opposed the plan are fearful of losing something precious and believe that smaller is better. We hope they will now join us in upcoming opportunities to guide the implementation toward an even better and thriving Squaw which we all call home. Thank you for your service.
