Opinion: Truckee Town Council, police need to address traffic issues

It’s time for law enforcement and the Truckee Town Council to consider traffic flow during the winter. For the Truckee Police Department to issue an email or Nixle saying “Stay Home” during a storm is nonsense.

You cannot drive on Donner Pass Road because other drivers are cutting through town to stay off of I-80. The last several weekends, it is almost impossible to drive anywhere near I-80 due to the traffic to the various ski resorts. It has become extremely difficult to move through town during these times.

It is time to examine how we respond to further development at the ski resorts, and traffic flows during the peak driving times.
