HOMEWOOD, Calif. – Lake Tahoe’s West Shore Caf & Inn invites lunar revelers to the summer’s most anticipated lakefront party, the Blue Moon Rising Blue + White Ball, set for Friday, Aug. 31.”The Blue Moon Rising Blue + White Ball is expected to be one of the summer’s most well-attended events,” said Rob Curtis, general manager of West Shore Caf & Inn. “With the party’s festivities, live music, lakefront patio and pier dining, and rarity of a blue moon rise, this event is certain to offer a magical, unforgettable Tahoe experience,” he added. The West Shore Caf & Inn, which is well-known as one of the Tahoe region’s best locations for viewing the moonrise, hosts a party for each full moon. Violin serenade at 7:21 p.m.Perhaps the evening’s most unique highlight is the violin soloist who serenades guests, as well as the moment, when the moon ascends over Lake Tahoe (7:21 p.m.) Performing from the end of the pier, the sound of the single violin will offer special tribute to the rarity of the blue moonrise. Dress in blue + whiteParty-goers are encouraged to celebrate the blue moon by dressing head-to-toe in blue and white. Dressing to impress has its rewards: Guests in themed outfits will receive half-priced Moonlight Mojito cocktails (the signature drink of the West Shore Caf & Inn). Dock + Dine dinner cruise packageGuests can truly “make an entrance” at the Blue + White Ball aboard the Wild Goose II, Tahoe’s celebrated 36-foot Grand Craft Woody classic wooden boat. The Wild Goose II departs at 5 p.m. from the North Tahoe Marina, arriving at the West Shore Caf & Inn’s pier at 5:50 p.m. for dinner with a return/departure time between 8:15 and 8:30 p.m. to the North Tahoe Marina. Dinner cruise packages are $150 for adults and $105 for children; and include on-board beverages as well as a prix-fix choice of a salad or appetizer, entre, and dessert at the caf. Details and reservation information are available at WestShoreCafe.com. The West Shore Caf & Inn welcomes all boaters, offering 30 complimentary buoys, boat valet, and easy access to the pier. Blue moon fun for kidsThe West Shore Caf & Inn’s expansive lakefront lawn offers complimentary games, arts and crafts, and room to run for kids – as well as an ideal spot for watching the moonrise. Offered during the Blue Moon Rising party, as well as every Friday and Saturday night, West Shore Caf & Inn’s activities for children are a family favorite. Additionally, children’s lunch and dinner menus are available daily. Blue Moon weekend lodgingThe West Shore Caf & Inn’s six guest rooms and suites offer lakefront accommodations that parallel the beauty of a blue moon. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of the moonrise and lake. Complimentary breakfast – as well as use of the Inn’s kayaks, paddleboards, and bikes – is included with every reservation. Live music Emily Tessmer will perform live from 7-10 p.m. in the West Shore Caf & Inn’s Lakeside Lounge.
