Adrenaline seekers are all-too-familiar with the likes of adventure films produced by Matchstick Productions, Warren Miller and others, and this weekend provides the next opportunity to be immersed in the niche entertainment.
“Marking 15 years of adventure sports cinematography and culture, Tahoe Adventure Film Festival (TAFF) is the annual gathering of the who’s who of outdoor adventure set in a hypnotic theatrical show of go-go dancers and dramatic action imagery,” states a TAFF press release.
The event is a culmination of the latest and greatest adventure sports films from the industry’s top-tier filmmakers, covering a variety of extreme athleticism. Attendees should expect to see everything from skiing and snowboarding to kayaking, surfing, climbing and more.
“An annual tradition, TAFF celebrates the adventure sports community with newly released films of daring exploits and epic adventures in some of the most remote places and harsh conditions that test the human spirit,” continues the release.
This year’s festival highlights female athletes and their emerging prowess in the realm of heart-pounding sports. There’s also a never-before-seen clip that features TAFF founder (and Tahoe local) Todd Offenbacher.
“I’ve traveled the globe to ski, climb and explore where I’ve met so many like-minded people living the same dream,” he noted. “This festival comes from my heart and soul, and represents the collective passion and lessons learned to inspire everyone to pursue their dreams with gusto.”
TAFF returns to South Lake Tahoe on Saturday, Dec. 9, at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. screenings.
Tickets, available at http://www.montbleuresort.com, range from $22-$32 (plus fees).
