Fashion show Saturday to raise money for North Tahoe scholarships

Staff report

The Women’s Club of North Tahoe will host its annual Fashion Show fundraiser — “Do You Remember?” — on Saturday, Aug. 29, starting at 11 a.m. at the Montreux Golf and Country Club in Reno.

This event is the Women’s Club’s single fundraiser for the year, with proceeds benefiting North Tahoe public schools and educational scholarships for Incline Village graduating seniors.

“We’ve been doing this fundraiser for many, many years,” explains Cookie Steinberg, president of the organization, “and it continues to get bigger and better each year! The event features vintage fashions, supplied by Dress The Party here in Incline Village. We’re certain it will be great fun for everyone!”

Club members, as well as Incline High School students, will model 1920s fashions that may also be purchased by attendees, with 25 percent of the price being donated to the organization.

Tickets are $65 per person and are available at Dress The Party (in the Village Center), online at http://www.fashionshow.myevent.com, or by contacting Patricia Owens at 775-831-7887.
