Fundraiser next week to benefit Truckee Bike Park

Staff report

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Biking for a Better World is partnering up with the River Ranch for a Wild Winter Wednesday fundraiser next week.

Biking for a Better World is a nonprofit organization that raises funds and awareness to improve the cycling community in North Lake Tahoe. Volunteers focus on strengthening youth programs, trail systems, and local cycling events.

Proceeds from the Wednesday, Feb. 10, event at the River Ranch will benefit the Truckee Bike Park. Visit truckeebikepark.org to learn more.

The Truckee Bike Park includes something for all ages, including a Pump Track that can be enjoyed by riders of all abilities that helps develop bike handling skills; a BMX track that can be fun for the whole family; a cross-country loop and more.

The park is continually expanding, and volunteers are now working on development of intermediate-to-advanced dirt jumps, a beginner-to-advanced slopestyle course, and additional flow lines.

At next week’s Wild Winter Wednesdays, Biking for a Better World will host a raffle. The first ticket is free, but you can increase our odds of winning by purchasing additional tickets. The grand prize is a new Salomon “The Sight” 158 snowboard.

Happy Hour will happen until 6 p.m., and a DJ will spin tunes until 7 p.m. for this event. The River Ranch Lodge & Restaurant is located right off Highway 89 between Tahoe City and Truckee, near Squaw Valley. Visit riverranchlodge.com to learn more.
