INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — The Sierra Nevada College Choir, under the direction of Donna Axton, will perform its annual Broadway Concert at Cornerstone Church on Thursday, May 12, at 7 p.m.

This year, we are featuring music from the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, Carousel, and from the Disney feature, The Little Mermaid, (based on Hans Christian Anderson’s fairy tale).

The second half of the program will include music from Into the Woods (with additional music from Cinderella and Tangled).

You may not be familiar with this wonderful musical. It is Stephen Sondheim’s very clever combination of several fairy tale characters who go “into the woods” and meet. The characters include Cinderella and her Prince; Rapunzel, Rapunzel’s mother and her Prince; Little Red Riding and the Wolf; and Jack of Beanstalk fame.

Featured solos are by the area’s favorite singers: David Marelich, Karen Colbert, Brad Perry, Mary Gollery, Suzanne Gollery Bill Roberts, Claire Roberts, Sara Turner, Kaitlyn MacAuley and Christina Cervi. It promises to be great fun.

SNC folks are free. Non-SNC tickets are $10 (available ahead of time at the Potlatch and Handmade at the Lake in Incline Village, The Store in Tahoe City, or from chorus members) and $5 for kids under 12.

In its 30th year, the SNC choir brings high quality musical productions to this community. The membership is drawn from Tahoe’s North Shore, Truckee, and Sierra Nevada College.
