TAHOE-TRUCKEE, Calif. — The Tahoe Ten: Upcoming weekend events you can’t miss:
1. Downtown Truckee Wine, Walk & Shop
The Downtown Truckee Wine, Walk & Shop has established itself as one of Truckee’s preeminent events. This annual favorite brings nearly 1,000 locals and tourists to historic downtown Truckee to sip wine, taste scrumptious food samples and enjoy shopping.

2. Michelle Courier Artist Reception in Truckee
Art Obsessions will present its main and most prolific artist, Ms. Michelle Courier, Oct. 2 through Oct 8. Meet her at the new gallery at 10015 West River Street. Refreshments will be provided.

3. Celebrate Oktoberfest in Tahoe City
The annual Tahoe City Oktoberfest is a fundraiser for the Tahoe City Downtown Association, with food and drink vendors including Big Blue Q, Moe’s Original Bar B Que, Truckee Sourdough, Cheri’s Ice Cream, Souper Wagon, Lagunitas Beer, and Barefoot Wine.

4. Donner Party Hike
The 23rd annual Donner Party Hike gives hikers interesting insight into emigrant history from local guides, along with invigorating recreation and beautiful scenery high in the Sierra Nevada.

5. Fall Fish Fest at Taylor Creek
The family friendly event returns this weekend, allowing locals and visitors a wonderful chance to watch as the hundreds of Kokanee salmon that typically flock to Taylor Creek to spawn.

6. Lake Tahoe Photo Walk
Jim Markle will host a photography walk as part of the Worldwide Photo Walk, a collection of Oct. 3 social events around the globe where photographers get together to walk around, shoot photos and have fun with other photographers.

7. Late-night DJ Shows at Crystal Bay
The Crystal Bay Casino’s Red Room will host a pair of late-night DJ parties this weekend — DubFyah & Haylestorm on Friday, and AUX & Kompozart on Saturday.

8. Relay for Life Incline Village
This year’s event will feature a traditional Knights of Columbus pancake breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m., pizza from Bar Bar Bar and Rookies from noon to 1:30 p.m. and again around 8 p.m., and a complete lasagna dinner provided by Sunshine Deli from 5 to 6 p.m. — all in the name of fighting cancer.

9. Gregg Allman at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe
Gregg Allman, best known for performing in the Allman Brothers Band, and a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Georgia Music Hall of Famer, will perform his epic classic rock and blues songs this weekend at Lake Tahoe’s South Shore.

10. Lucas and Darcy at Cottonwood
Voted “Best Bar,” “Best Outdoor Seating” and “Best Place To Take a Date,” Cottonwood offers an intimate location for dinner and great musical performances, often of the acoustic variety. This Friday, it’s Lucas and Darcy, featuring Spanish guitar, sweet vocals, swing and blues.
