1. Caitlin Jemma & The Goodness in Kings Beach
Caitlin Jemma & The Goodness, a five-piece string band from Oregon, will bring their original folk tunes — influenced by tradition and delivered with soul — to the North Shore for a free show Saturday in Kings Beach.

2. Michelle Courier at Art Obsessions
Michigan native Michelle Courier, one of the world’s most renowned artists, will be showing her artworks this weekend at Art Obsessions in Truckee. Courier’s artwork depicts, in stunning perspective, scenes of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada.
When: 11 a.m-5 p.m. Friday-Sunday, July 22-24

3. Lake Tahoe photo exhibit
Take in a retrospective exhibit of iconic Lake Tahoe photographs taken by noted photographer Harold A. Parker at the Gatekeeper’s Museum in Tahoe City. The exhibit, which runs through Labor Day, captures scenic views from 1905 to 1913 when Parker was the resident Tahoe Tavern photographer.
When: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily
Where: Gatekeeper’s Museum, Tahoe City
Cost: $5 general admission; $4 seniors; active military and children under 12 free
4. Donner Lake triathlon
The 35th Donner Lake Triathlon, which features a beautiful and challenging course located in Truckee, will take place this weekend. Additionally, the sixth annual Donner Lake Kids Triathlon and fourth annual Donner Lake Half Triathlon will be held.
When: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, July 23-24
Where: Donner Lake, Truckee
Cost: Prices vary; free for spectators
5. Jake Houston & the Royal Flush at Crystal Bay Casino
Jake Houston & the Royal Flush, Reno’s premier honky-tonk band, will bring their high-energy, toe-tapping sound to the North Shore for a free show at the Crystal Bay Casino.
When: 10 p.m. Saturday, July 23
Where: Crystal Bay Casino Red Room
6. Celebrity Golf Tournament at South Shore
Watch sports stars, actors and actresses, and comedians hit the links at South Shore’s Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course for the American Century Championship this weekend. This year, Justin Timberlake, Aaron Rodgers, Jim Harbaugh, Charles Barkley and more will take part.
When: 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday-Sunday, July 22-24
Where: Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, Stateline
Cost: $30 per day
7. American Volkssport Association hikes
An American Volkssport Association event, sponsored by local affiliate Tahoe Trail Trekkers, will be held on Saturday at Donner Memorial State Park in Truckee. Both 5K and 10K distances will be offered. Hike must be completed by 4 p.m.
When: Participants must begin between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 23
Where: Donner Memorial State Park, Truckee
Cost: Park entrance fee is $10; $9 for seniors.
8. Martis Creek Star Party
Cap your Saturday night at a stargazing party at Martis Creek with the Astronomical Society of Nevada. Meet in the Martis Creek campground amphitheater for an introduction before heading down to Martis Lake to look through telescopes.
When: 8:15 p.m. Saturday, July 23
Where: Martis Creek Campground, Truckee
9. Rob Schneider at MontBleu Resort
Emmy-nominated actor and stand-up comedian Rob Schneider will bring his trademark blend of character and comedic timing he honed on Saturday Night Live to the South Shore on Friday.
When: 7 p.m. Friday, July 22
Where: MontBleu Resort, Lake Tahoe
Cost: $25-$45 plus fees
10. Tim McGraw at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe
Grammy Award-winning country music giant Tim McGraw — most known for hits like “It’s Your Love,” “Just To See You Smile” and “Live Like You Were Dying” — will perform on the South Shore at Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harvey’s.
When: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 23
Where: Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harvey’s, Stateline
