1. Dead Winter Carpenters at Crystal Bay Casino

North Tahoe alt-country outfit Dead Winter Carpenters will play a two-night stand this weekend inside the Crystal Bay Casino Crown Room. DWC is playing in support of its third studio album, the critically acclaimed "Washoe," which came out in February.

2. Truckee Memorial Day Ceremony

Truckee's annual celebration honoring military veterans and those who've died includes formal speeches and music from the Mountain Belles. A meet-and-greet with veterans will follow at noon at the Veterans Hall on High Street.

3. Spring Skiing at Squaw Valley
