1. Summer Shred at Boreal/Woodward Tahoe
Hit the slopes and the ramps at Boreal Mountain Resort and Woodward Tahoe for their Summer Shred public day on Saturday. There will be a DJ spinning tunes all day, a beer garden on the snow, Boreal’s Castle Peak chairlift will operate from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the indoor Woodward facilities will be open from noon to 6 p.m.
When: 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, June 18

2. Full Strawberry Moon kayak tour
On Saturday, experience an enchanting full strawberry moon rise and reflect over Lake Tahoe as you paddle over the peaceful water with Tahoe Adventure Company’s Full Moon Kayak Tours. TAC’s knowledgeable guides will teach you about the natural and human history of the area, while you watch the sun cast a calming alpenglow onto the surrounding Sierra.
When: 6:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday, June 18

3. Summer Solstice Classic Car Stroll
The Kiwanis Club of North Lake Tahoe will present the eighth annual Summer Solstice Classic Car Stroll on Friday in Tahoe City. Past events have featured muscle cars, hot rods, antiques, sports cars and other classics.
When: 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 17

4. ‘No Shortcuts to the Top’
Ed Viesturs, best-selling author and extreme adventure mountaineer, will share gripping stories about his life-and-death mountain expeditions in a talk called “No Shortcuts To The Top” to be presented at the Chateau in Incline Village on Monday. All proceeds from the event go to support READ Global’s earthquake rebuilding efforts in Nepal.

5. Donavon Frankenreiter at Crystal Bay Casino
Touring in support of his new album, “The Heart,” singer-songwriter Donavon Frankenreiter will unspool his intimate and honest rock songs on Sunday inside the Crystal Bay Casino Crown Room.
When: 9 p.m. Sunday, June 19

6. Music on the Beach at Kings Beach
The Music on the Beach free summer concert series in Kings Beach kicks off Friday with rock and blues band The Blue Monsters performing at Kings Beach State Recreation Area. Sierra Nevada Brewing Company beer, 14 Hands wine, soda and food will be available for purchase.

7. Lake Tahoe Mountain Bike Race
Take part in an epic day of mountain biking on a scenic and fun course during the Lake Tahoe Mountain Bike Race. Race in either the four-hour or eight-hour cross country race as a solo or on a team, navigating a course that’s a mix of single track and fire-road.
When: 8 a.m. Saturday, June 18

8. Broken Arrow Skyrace at Squaw Valley
The Broken Arrow Skyrace — which represents a unique style of mountain running characterized by off-trail scrambling on steep terrain with massive amounts of vertical gain and loss at altitude — will take place in the U.S. for the first time this weekend at world-famous Squaw Valley, as part of the Alpenglow Mountain Festival.
When: All day, Saturday-Sunday, June 18-19

9. The Bacon Brothers at MontBleu Resort
The Bacon Brothers, composed of iconic actor Kevin Bacon and his brother Michael, will bring their blend of rock, soul and Americana to the South Shore with a performance at MontBleu Resort.

10. Jennifer Murphy at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe
Standup comedian Jennifer Murphy, who’s appeared on “Last Comic Standing” and “Comics Unleashed,” will perform this weekend on the South Shore.
When: 9 p.m. Friday, Sunday; 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Saturday
