1. Sunset Friday Kayak Tour
Sink into an evening of paddling and watching the night sky with the Sunset Friday Kayak Tour at Tahoe Vista Recreation Area. The tour covers 1-2 miles (two-plus hours) and includes a kayak, paddle, life jacket, knowledgeable guide, instruction, natural and human history discussions, permit fees, hot drinks and snacks.

2. The Expanders at the CBC
The Expanders, Los Angeles-based reggae artists championing the lineage of classic roots reggae traditions, will bring their three-part vocal harmonies steeped in classic ’70s and ’80s reggae to the North Shore for a free show Saturday.

3. Truckee Running Festival
On Saturday, head to Riverview Sports Park for a morning of trailing running and fun at the Truckee Running Festival. Try a 5K or 10K along the Legacy Trail or a half marathon featuring beautiful scenic trails of Waddle Ranch. Short races are also held for the kids.

4. The Great Skate at Northstar
Sierra Expeditionary Learning School will celebrate its third annual Great Skate event at Northstar California on Friday. The Great Skate is a unique opportunity for families to come together and celebrate the end of a school year. The evening includes roller-skating, DJ music, raffle prizes and a silent auction.
When: 4-9 p.m. Friday, June 3

5. Yamn at Moe’s Original BBQ
Yamn, a Denver-based rock group, will bring its blend of electronica beats and head-banging rock riffs to Moe’s Original BBQ in Tahoe City on Saturday.

6. Mike Kise Memorial Charity Fishing Derby
The 23rd annual Mike Kise Memorial Charity Fishing Derby will be held Sunday at Jake’s On The Lake in Tahoe City. The fundraising event awards anglers who haul in the largest rainbow trout ($250), brown trout ($500) and Mackinaw ($1,000). Entry includes buffet brunch, derby T-shirt and raffle.

7. National Trails Day
The Tahoe Rim Trail Association will celebrate National Trails Day with an event at Spooner Lake. It will include access to nearby trails, educational talks, sponsor and partner booths, free gear demos, Leave No Trace activities, sustainable giveaways and pictures with trail mascot “McLeod the Marmot.”
When: 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, June 4

8. The Midtown Men at Harrah’s
The Midtown Men, stars from the original cast of Broadway’s “Jersey Boys,” will take their signature sound and chemistry — bringing their favorite hits from the ’60s to life — to the South Shore on Saturday.

9. Scott Record at the Improv
Comedian Scott Record — who’s opened for everyone from Frank Sinatra to Bob Hope to Celine Deion — will perform an hour-long set at the Improv at Harvey’s this weekend.
When: 9 p.m. Friday (June 3), Sunday (June 5); 8:30 p.m., 10:30 p.m. Saturday, June 4.

10. Reggie Hall at South Tahoe
