TAHOE-TRUCKEE, Calif. — Below are the Sierra Sun’s picks for the Top 10 events to check out this weekend at Truckee and Lake Tahoe.

1. Lake Tahoe Music Festival
Bring your picnic, low-back lawn chair and wine for the 2016 Lake Tahoe Music Festival. The event, which features a 22-piece Academy Orchestra, continues this weekend at lakefront and intimate settings on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe, Tahoe City and Truckee. Saturday’s concert in Tahoe City will feature the orchestra’s collaboration with professional ballet dancers from the Lake Tahoe Dance Collective.

2. Tahoe City Fine Arts and Crafts Festival
The Tahoe City Fine Arts and Crafts Festival will give visitors a special opportunity to meet with more than 35 artisans and craftspeople showcasing a wide variety of arts and crafts including photography, paintings, ceramics, jewelry and much more.

3. Jelly Bread at Sky Tavern
On Sunday, Reno-based funk outfit Jelly Bread will headline the finale of Sky Tavern’s family-friendly Summer Music Series, a fundraiser for the Mt. Rose junior ski and outdoor programs. Folk musicians Mel and Gia, along with a special guest, will open the show.

4. The Waybacks at Crystal Bay Casino
The Waybacks, a San Francisco-based quartet, will bring their blend of roots, rock, jazz and swing sounds to the North Shore for a free show at the Crystal Bay Casino Red Room.

5. Dirty Cello at Moody’s
Dirty Cello, a blues and bluegrass band hailing from the Bay Area, will perform back-to-back free shows in downtown Truckee this weekend.

6. Full Moon Kayak Tour
Float in a kayak on the clear blue water while the sun sets the sky on fire, the full moon rises, and the stars twinkle during a Full Moon Kayak Tour. After paddling for roughly two hours, the night will be capped off with hot drinks, snacks and stargazing on the beach.

7. XTERRA Lake Tahoe
XTERRA Lake Tahoe, one of the country’s most popular off-road triathlon courses, returns to the North Shore on Saturday. Participants will swim through Lake Tahoe, ride the mountainside and run amid tall pins, aspens and creek crossings.

8. Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival
The fourth annual Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival returns to Hard Rock Lake Tahoe on Saturday. The festival will feature artists Pepper, Ky-Mani Marley, Mike Love and many more. New to this year’s event are a “chill-out” real grass/sod field, a vendor village and interactive art wall.

9. Michael Franti & Spearhead at MontBleu Resort
Musician, filmmaker and humanitarian Michael Franti will bring his globally conscious lyrics and eclectic mix of funk, reggae and folk to the South Shore on Friday. Known for their authentic and uplifting music, Franti and his band Spearhead have found global success with multi-platinum songs like “Say Hey (I Love You).”

10. Scott Pemberton at Moe’s Original BBQ
Scott Pemberton, a ripping guitarist who plays a mix of jazz, Pacific Northwest-influenced rock, blues and West Coast funk will bring his “timber rock” to Tahoe City on Sunday. Jive Coulis, a three-piece blues/funk band, will open the show.
