‘Fresh Tracks’ 5K Snowshoe Walk and Race coming Feb. 24
The Tahoe Mountain Milers Running Club is hosting the Eric Nageotte Memorial “Fresh Tracks” 5K Snowshoe Walk and Race at 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at historic Camp Richardson Resort.
The beneficiary is support for metastatic breast cancer in honor of club member Rene Gorevin, local doctor Kelly Shanahan and other Tahoe women.
For those who like to compete, unique handmade age-group awards are presented to the top three.
Those who have never experienced snowshoeing will see that if they can walk, they can snowshoe. Pre-registration is $25 and includes a neck gaiter, snowshoe rental if you need snowshoes, post-race refreshments, and continued day use of groomed Camp Richardson trails. Race-day registration is $35.
Sausages will be on the grill, along with other post-race refreshments, veggie chili, fruit, cookies and cocoa.
A special screening of the documentary “The Human Element” will be hosted Friday, Aug. 16, with an introduction by internationally acclaimed, award-winning photographer James Balog.
