INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Tahoe SAFE Alliance recently announced that tickets are on sale for the 28th annual Tahoe Chocolate & Wine Festival.

The event will take place Nov. 5 from 6-10 p.m. at Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Grand Ballroom.

This year’s event marks special significance, as Tahoe SAFE Alliance Executive Director Karen Carey is retiring. The nonprofit will be honoring Karen’s past and an end to an era while celebrating new beginnings under new leadership.

The theme is “Modern Renaissance” signaling a re-birth and guests will delight in the agency’s interpretation of an era that shifted towards a focus on art, culture, science, and humanism. Tickets are $125 in advance and $150 at the door. Tickets are sold through tahoechocolatefestival.org.

“This is an opportunity for the community to honor Karen’s legacy while celebrating the vision of the new Executive Director Paul Bancroft.”Dawn Harris

“We are bringing supporters together for a celebration of Karen Carey, whose leadership has brought so much success to our programs and our community. This is an opportunity for the community to honor Karen’s legacy while celebrating the vision of the new Executive Director Paul Bancroft,” said Dawn Harris, Event Chair and Fund Development Manager at Tahoe SAFE Alliance. “We chose ‘Modern Renaissance’ as our theme because it most adequately communicates this important transition of leadership.

“We are doing a modern twist — our own interpretation of Renaissance — and we encourage our guests to immerse themselves in the fun and dress the theme, although cocktail attire is perfectly appropriate.”

Guests attending the festival will enjoy a festive evening in a Modern Renaissance setting, delight in special entertainment, taste gourmet chocolate creations by Tahoe chefs, sample boutique wine, dine on scrumptious appetizers by Hyatt chefs, and bid on unique items in a live and silent auction.

This is the largest annual fundraiser for Tahoe SAFE Alliance; money raised will support vital programs and services including the Mt. Rose Safe House, the community Helpline, victim support services, legal advocacy, a comprehensive Children’s Program, and violence prevention education to school children, businesses, and community members.

Sponsorship opportunities start at $250 and offer rewards and marketing benefits for local businesses.
