Outdoor wellness classes on tap at Diamond Peak
June 16, 2016
This summer, the Incline Village Parks & Recreation Department is offering a 10-week workshop series called "Peaceful, Centered, Balanced," taking place on the deck of the Diamond Peak Base Lodge, Sundays from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
The series, which started June 12, runs through August 31. It's designed to relax, rejuvenate and inspire connection with your inner peace, according to IVGID.
"The various techniques facilitated by expert, certified instructors will incorporate practices to synchronize your body, mind and heart," according to a news release. "Experience the rugged beauty of Diamond Peak and leave feeling refreshed, centered and balanced."
The sessions are open to anyone — no experience necessary. Officials recommend wearing sunscreen and comfortable layers. Also, bring water, a yoga mat, blanket and an optional eye mask for Gong Immersion.
This weekend's June 17 event — Co-Op Yoga with Robin Elley — will actually take place outside the IVGID Recreation Center, instead of Diamond Peak.
"Engage in this vibrant, rewarding practice exploring trust, relationship building and play," according to a description of the event. "Hands-on therapeutic tandem postures will be introduced, involving body weight support for increased strength, flexibility and relaxation. Singles and couples welcome. Come with a friendly open mind and playful spirit."
