Register for Tahoe SAFE Alliance’s Crisis Intervention Training

Staff report

Tahoe SAFE Alliance recently announced the schedule for its 8-week fall Crisis Intervention Training, which begins Sept. 6.

The nonprofit is recruiting men and women to help the agency in its mission to end the incidence and trauma of intimate partner/domestic violence, sexual violence, and child abuse in North Lake Tahoe and Truckee.

The organization is seeking volunteers willing to commit to weekly shifts on our 24-Hour Helpline or in our Children's Program.

"We also have opportunities in other programs such as Violence Prevention Education, Residential Services, and Adult Services," according to the nonprofit. "Ideal candidates are empathetic listeners, natural helpers, and are comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds."

Crisis Intervention Training will be an intensive 69-hour course held on a combination of Tuesday and Thursday nights and three Saturdays.

The evening classes will be 6-9 p.m. at Sierra College in Truckee. Saturdays will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 10, 17, and 24 at Community House in Kings Beach.
