Tahoe Forest Hospital to launch health care 101 series

Staff report

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Last week, Tahoe Forest Health System announced a new health care information series hosted by Chief Executive Officer Harry Weis called “Fact & Fiction, Health Care 101.”

The first session in the series will be held Tuesday, Aug. 30.

Each of the “Fact & Fiction, Health Care 101” presentations will include a different health care topic that is timely, followed by an open discussion period where attendees can ask questions, make suggestions or voice his or her viewpoint.

“One of my priorities,” says Weis, “is to connect directly with the community about a variety of health care topics. There is much to share and discuss together about local, regional and national health care issues that affect all of us.”

The first session will be held in the Eskridge Conference Room located inside the main entrance of Tahoe Forest Hospital located at 10121 Pine Ave. in Truckee.

Community members are invited to attend the free event, as well as heath system employees and area physicians.

Additional sessions are scheduled for Sept. 26 and Nov. 3, each with a different health care related topic.

The session time is 6-7:30 p.m., and begins with a 30-minute presentation on a health care topic by Weis. Light refreshments will be served. If you would like more information, call 530-582-6290.
