Fresh off the group’s Live at Lakeview performance, funk ensemble Mojo Green is ready to take the stage for the next installment of North Shore’s Music on the Beach series.

“Mojo Green — a seven-piece outfit from Reno, Nev., is quickly becoming known as one of the premier funk and soul bands on the West Coast,” states the band’s Facebook biography.

On Friday, Aug. 4, the female-fronted group performs lakeside beginning at 6 p.m.

“Over the last two years Mojo Green has played over 200 shows, taking their high energy, hard-hitting, crazy dance party to storied venues such as The Great American Music Hall, The Sierra Nevada Big Room, The Sweetwater Music Hall, Harlow’s in SacTown, The Crystal Bay Club, and the historic Celebrity Showroom at the Reno Nugget,” the biography continues.

Throughout Mojo Green’s time in the industry, the band has performed alongside the likes of The Motet, Trombone Shorty, Lettuce, and more.

You also might’ve caught the group at festivals including Burning Man, Hangtown Halloween Ball, The Squaw Valley Funk Fest, and For the Funk of It.

Don’t miss your chance to see one of funk’s up-and-comers: Mojo Green’s Friday night performance is free to attend.

The concert is held at Kings Beach State Recreation Area. Learn more about the gig online at http://www.facebook.com/musiconthebeachkb.
