Old meets new in the acoustic stylings of a New York City band stopping through the North Shore as part of a national tour this weekend.

The six-member Spirit Family Reunion takes over the late night stage at Crystal Bay Casino for a free show. The show is scheduled to start at 12:30 a.m. early Sunday morning.

"Spirit Family Reunion play homegrown American music to stomp, clap, shake and holler with. Ever since they started singing together on the street corners, farmer's markets and subway stations of New York City, their songs have rung-out in a pure and timeless way," according to their website. "When Spirit Family Reunion gather to sing, there is communion. Strangers and neighbors come to rejoice in the sound, and there is no divide between performer and spectator."

The band has opened for the likes of Alabama Shakes and Levon Helm and is beginning to make a name for itself, according to a review of the Spirit Family Reunion's latest album, No Separation, on pastemagazine.com.

"On, No Separation, Spirit Family Reunion's latest full-length release, the six-piece band joins the revival ranks alongside David Rawlings and the Felice Brothers to create 12 rousing bluegrass-based tunes. The band's many instruments — rincluding a fiddle, accordion, washboard and a five-string banjo — sound like they're competing with each other, only to create a beautiful and raucous mess."
