Violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn is set to perform with Toccata during several shows in the region.

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — The Toccata-Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus will continue its 11th annual WinterFest this weekend with guest Elizabeth Pitcairn performing with the famed red Mendelssohn Stradivarius violin.

The performance series kicks off at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at St. Theresa Church at 1041 Lyons Ave. in South Lake Tahoe. Toccata will also perform the shows on Jan. 31 in Reno, Feb. 3 in Carson City and Friday, Feb. 5 in Incline Village.

The Incline concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Cornerstone Church, a 300 Country Club Drive.

"The program opens with Felix Mendelssohn's symphonic choral masterpiece Elijah (Part 2), featuring vocal soloists Anna Helwing, Joy Strotz and Becky Earl, sopranos; Liudmila Mullin, mezzo soprano; Brad Perry and Sherman Modeste, tenor; and Stuart Duke, Chris Nelson, and Chris Langton, baritones," according to Toccata. "The concert concludes with Elizabeth Pitcairn, guest violinist, performing Brahms' Violin Concerto in D major. Jeffrey Lindhorst is Tahoe Symphony concertmaster."

Tickets are available at the door for all shows, or online at toccatatahoe.com. General admission is $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and $5 for students age 19-23. Those under the age of 19 are free.
