Mozart in the Mountains begins Sunday at Lake Tahoe

The Toccata Tahoe Symphony Orchestra kicks off its first installment of Mozart in the Mountains this Sunday, Aug. 7, at 4 p.m. at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church in Incline Village.

"The program opens with Mozart's 'Violin Concerto #5 in A Major' performed by soloist Alex Eisenberg. Selections from Mozart's 'happiest' mass, 'Coronation Mass KV 317,' will be performed with soloists Becky Earl and Anne Davidson, sopranos; Brad Perry, tenor; and Chris Nelson, baritone," according to a TOCCATA press release.

Mozart's "Laudate Dominum from the Vespers KV339" can also be heard, and Miyuki Otani closes the show with Mozart's "Piano Concerto #17 in G major."

The series, which debuted last year, continues with performances throughout the region. Mozart in the Mountains visits Shepherd of the Sierra Lutheran in Carson City on Aug. 10 before heading to South Shore on Aug. 12 and Reno on Aug. 14.

Maestro James Rawie conducts all performances, and the series is supported by a grant from the Kling Family Foundation.

General admission tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for seniors. With valid ID, students under age 24 enter for $5 general seating 10 minutes prior to concert time. Youth under age 18 enter for free. Preferred seating is available for $35 and $15 for students. Tickets are available for purchase online or at the door.
