Tahoe orchestra continues MusicFest with Mozart in the Mountains

Building on its operatic 10th Anniversary Celebration series from July, Toccata-Tahoe Symphony Orchestra will continue its 21-concert Summer MusicFest with a new series titled Mozart in the mountains.
The first concert is on Sunday, August 2 at 5 p.m. at Shepherd of the Sierra Lutheran Church in Carson City (3680 Hwy. 395 South).
The program opens with Mozart¹s Sinfonie Concertante KV 364, performed by soloists Alex Eisenberg, violin and TianTian Lan, viola.
They will also perform as soloists for Bach¹s Concerto for two violins in D minor. Sopranos Irina Kasimova and Ania Helwing will perform arias from Mozart¹s Marriage of Figaro and Il Re Pastore (The Shepherd King) and also the Laudamus Te from Mozart¹s Mass in C minor. Closing the concert will be Mayu Nomura, performing Mozart¹s Piano Concerto #17 in G major.
Other concerts in the series will be presented on Tuesday, August 4 at 7:00pm at St. Theresa Catholic Church in South Lake Tahoe (1041 Lyons Ave.,) and Thursday, August 6 at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Reno (501 California Ave.).
The final presentation will be Saturday, August 8 at 7:00pm at Cornerstone Church in Incline Village (300 Country Club Drive). Maestro James Rawie will conduct all performances.

Tickets are available at the door or online at http://www.ToccataTahoe.com. General admission is $25 adults and $20 for seniors. Youth/students under age 24 with valid ID are $5 for seating ten minutes prior to concert time and under 19 enter free.
Preferred seating is $35 and $15 for youth/students. This concert series is supported by a grant from the Kling Family Foundation.
