Truckee’s Moutdoor music series returns with Matt Connable Band

Staff report

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Truckee locals and visitors need wait no longer — Music in the Park is ready to kick off the summer with its return on Wednesday, June 17.

Starting next week, Music in the Park runs every Wednesday through August 26 at the "Salty" Gebhart Amphitheater at the Truckee River Regional Park at 10050 Brockway Road.

On the 17th, the Matt Connable Band, specializing in acoustic rock-Americana, kicks off the weekly outdoor music series that begins at 6:30 p.m.

It's "one of Truckee's most favored and entertaining free events in the area," according to the Truckee-Donner Recreation & Parks District.

"Bring your food, drinks, chairs and blankets to have a fun summer evening in the park with your family and friends," officials said.

Each week will include bands with a variety of sounds such as country, rock, swing, blues, folk, jazz, and more. A special concert on Friday, June 26, will get your patriotic spirit high, as a US Air Force band, The Commanders, comes to the amphitheater.
