This Valentine’s Day if you’re worried about finding the perfect gift, why not treat your special someone to a spa treatment or stick with the age-old classic of wining and dining them?
A delicious meal and good conversation or some well-deserved relaxation is a wonderful way to show your significant other you care.
Several high-end resorts around Lake Tahoe are sure to offer the romantic ambiance, rejuvenation and gourmet food and drink to make this Valentine’s Day extra special.
“We’re all in search of an intimate experience on Valentine’s Day, and the true romance of North Lake Tahoe is embedded within its culture and natural beauty. Whether you’re a classic romantic, an adventure-seeker, or a group of friends looking for a non-traditional holiday, the region provides an authentic activity for everyone,” said Daphne Lange, tourism director for the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association.
Below are five options for Valentine’s Day packages and daily cuisine and spa offerings from Lake Tahoe and Reno if you’re still in the market for Valentine’s Day plans.
1. Indulgence at The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe
The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe says they are pulling out all the stops at lakefront Lone Eagle Grille restaurant and their luxurious Stillwater Spa.
This Valentine’s Day, the Grille’s menu will feature oysters in the half shell, Niman Ranch lamb loin and wine pairing, and blood orange and chocolate tarte, each expertly prepared.
On Valentine’s Day the resort’s Stillwater Spa offers an “I Heart You” couples massage special, including Champagne and chocolate, as well as an “I Heart Me” special for locals including a 25-minute massage or facial, each offered at special pricing.

2. Extravagant Romance in Lake Tahoe at The Ritz-Carlton
The resort offers what they describe as the epitome of romance and refined elegance, including two nights of accommodations, top-notch amenities, and round-trip private flights.
For those looking to prepare a gift for Valentine’s Day, the hotel will host Atelier Truckee’s art workshop for children to make two “stained glass” Valentine cards on Saturday, Feb. 10 from 3-7 p.m. for $20.
Each night, Manzanita offers The Chef’s Table and Tasting Counter where guests can customize their dining experience and for a special feast for lovebirds on Valentine’s Day.
The Spa at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe offers revitalizing wellness treatments for your special someone.
“Upon stepping foot in our 17,000 square-foot forest sanctuary, guests will instantly feel relaxed and awakened from the spa’s natural surroundings and intricate tree themed design,” said Candice Betz, spa director.

3. Fun for the Adults and the Kids, Resort at Squaw Creek
This Valentine’s Day families are invited to the Resort at Squaw Creek for a Build-A-Bear Factory from 3-5 p.m.
Outdoor adventurers can enjoy the guided Sunset Snowshoe Tour beginning at 4:30 p.m., and the resort’s special Valentine’s Day Dinner at Six Peaks kicks off at 5:30 p.m.
On the menu is a lobster ravioli appetizer, a choice of entrée from the butter poached Maine lobster & Foie Torchon, Bone Marrow Crusted Durham Ranch Beef Tenderloin, or the Farro Risotto with roasted and raw vegetables. For dessert, lovebirds will share fresh French crepes with burbon barrel aged maple syrup, raspberry mousse, champagne macerated berries, and chocolate tuile.

4. Breathtaking Views for Valentine’s Day with Christy Hill

Eldorado, Silver Legacy and Circus Circus have recently completed the first round of $50 million in renovations and bring culinary delights themed for Valentine’s Day guests.
