The 31st annual Autumn Food and Wine Festival returns to Northstar California Resort Friday, Sept. 9, through Sunday, Sept. 11, inviting foodies spanning Northern California, Lake Tahoe and Reno to savor flavors of California.

As Lake Tahoe’s most prestigious culinary celebration, the Autumn Food and Wine Festival continues to bring guests innovative teaching sessions with the addition of new experiences this year, including a Star Tour wine pairing, the final phase of competition for Northstar’s Mountain Kids Cook-Off, a family movie night with delicious wines for adults age 21 and over to enjoy, and much more.

“Each year The Village and the mountain at Northstar transform into an atmosphere exuding luxury and culinary prowess during the Autumn Food and Wine Festival,” said Beth Howard, vice president and general manager of Northstar California Resort. “There are such impressive techniques on display, authentic local items for sale in the Vendor Marketplace and activities for the entire family to enjoy it’s an event not to miss.”

Renowned regional chefs, highly-acclaimed craft breweries, esteemed wineries and distilleries — including the notorious event sponsor, Charbay Artisan Distillery — will contribute to the refined experience.

Friday and Saturday event offerings are the perfect introduction to the pièce de résistance, Sunday’s Culinary Competition and Grand Tasting, where participants are encouraged to cast their votes for Best Pairing of Food and Beverage, Best Food, Best Red Wine, Best White Wine and a slew of People’s Choice Awards.

The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe, will also play a key role in this weekend’s festival. The luxury resort located just down the road from the Northstar California will host special events over the course of the weekend, including Art of Mixology, a Tahoe Long Table Harvest Dinner, a Backyard Barbeque Family Cookout, After8eight featuring a live DJ, craft cocktails, champagne, and an eclectic selection of wines and more.

“The Autumn Food & Wine Festival is a yearly event that kicks-off our Secret Season, one of the best times of year to be in Lake Tahoe,” states Chef Dwayne Edwards, new executive chef of The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe. “The fall colors, flavors, special culinary events and serene environment make it the perfect time to be in the region. We look forward to welcoming guests to the resort to participate in the new and returning events we have planned for this year’s festive weekend.”

Ticket prices vary for the weekend, both in price and in terms of days and/or events attended. Visit bit.ly/2c1lrxM to check out all the offers, and plenty more about the 31st annual festival.
