Celebrate Tahoe summer at Squaw Valley’s art, wine music festival

Wine will be in abundance at a two-day celebration at Squaw Valley this weekend.

OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. — Fine artists, craft makers, performers, musicians and wine will come together for a two-day celebration at Squaw Valley his weekend.

The resort's 14th annual Art, Wine & Music Festival features wine tasting from 2-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, along with music on two stages and walkways lined with fine art booths and exhibits.

Saturday's music lineup includes Calling Ophelia, Tim High and Milton Merlos. Sunday's lineup includes Colleen Akiko, Lucas and Darcy, Sandor Y Su Mecanica: Music Cubana and Guitar Town.

Music runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. A wine and beer lounge at the event will also offer music by Serina Dawn all day Saturday and Chi McClean all day Sunday.

Unlimited wine tasting (with a festival glass) will feature 20 wineries, including Moniz Family Wines, Lumen Wines, Wrath Wines, Voss, Red Car Winery and more.

There is also plenty for the kids to do including 18 holes of miniature golf, the sky jump bungee trampoline, rock climbing wall and more.

All proceeds from the event benefit Disabled Sports USA Far West, whose mission is to provide affordable inclusive physical and recreational activities that build health and confidence.

In all, 30 fine artisans will attend. The Painted Vine booth at the festival will offer complimentary communal painting featuring a large canvas where people can express their creativity. The canvas will be donated to Disabled Sports at the end of the event.

While the event is free to attend, wine tasting with glass costs $25 per person.
