1. Nosferatu silent film at The Haus



Get the unique experience to view a showing of Nosferatu, regarded as the world’s first vampire movie and one of the most revered films in the history of cinema, at the Haus on Friday in Tahoe City.

2. 12th annual I-Did-A-Run event at Tahoe Donner

Dogs of all shapes and sizes will compete in this entertaining, timed dog pull race at the Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area. The event pits dog against dog in a race against the clock, pulling sleds over a snow-covered course.

When: 1 p.m. Sunday, March 13

3. Snowshoe Through History at Sugar Pine State Park

Tag along for an easy and fun 90-minute walk along Lake Tahoe’s magical west shore. Discover what attracted Tahoe’s earliest settlers and uncover secrets of the Hellman-Ehrman Estate in Sugar Pine Point State Park.

When: 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12

4. ‘Play’ reception at TDRPD Community Center

Everyone is invited to the opening reception for the art exhibit “Play” on Friday at the TDRPD Community Center. The newest exhibit at the Truckee center celebrates sport and recreation of all kinds. The event includes live music, refreshments, and playful art.

5. Tahoe Sports Hub event to raise money for SAC

Tahoe Sports Hub in Truckee is hosting a free event to thank customers for their loyalty and raise awareness for Sierra Avalanche Center. Refreshments and entertainment will be provided for this free community event, as well as a raffle, and the entire store will be on sale with discounts up to 70%, with some proceeds going to the nonprofit SAC.

When: 3-7 p.m. Saturday, March 12

6. 80’s dance party at Crystal Bay Casino

In an event benefiting Incline Middle School Outdoor Education, a Totally 80’s Dance Party and Lip-Sync Competition will take place Friday night at the Crystal Bay Casino. Prizes will be awarded to the best retro costume and best lip-synching.

When: 8 p.m. Friday, March 11

7. The Socks at Cottonwood

The Socks, a guitar and percussion duo from Reno specializing in unplugged versions of great alternative rock hits, will perform at the Cottonwood Restaurant & Bar on Friday.

8. Green Today at Hard Rock Casino Lake Tahoe

Green Today, a tribute band to iconic alternative rock band Green Day, will bring Green Day’s countless hits — from “Basket Case” to “American Idiot” — to the South Shore for a free performance Saturday night.

9. ‘The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940’

Mystery, chaos, and laughter will abound as the Theatre Arts Department at Lake Tahoe Community College presents the wildly funny send-up of the Hollywood murder mystery, “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940,” which opens Friday.

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday, March 11-12; 2 p.m. Sunday, March 13

Where: LTCC’s Duke Theatre, South Lake Tahoe

Cost: $10 general admission; $5 seniors, groups of eight or more, and students with a valid student ID.

10. Keb’ Mo’ at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe

Singer-songwriter Keb’ Mo’, a three-time Grammy Award-winning blues musician, will bring his post-modern blues style to the South Shore on Saturday night.
