1 p.m. Update: Power outage at Donner Trail, Glenshire elementary school

Donner Trail School, the district’s smallest campus located on Donner Summit, closed for classes today due to a power outage, according to district superintendent Jo Lynn Wilson.

The cause of the outage has not been disclosed. Classes are scheduled to resume on Monday.

Due to snowy conditions in the Tahoe and Truckee area, all Tahoe Truckee Unified School District Schools will begin classes two hour later than normally scheduled.

All bus pickups will be moved back two hours to accommodate the late start, according to district administrator Arnie Unger.

Classes will be dismissed at the regularly scheduled times, he said.

However, Glenshire Elementary schools have closed for the day because of a power outage, he said.

Facilities manger John Britto said this morning that no cause for the outage has been determined. Classes at Glenshire are scheduled to resume on Monday.
