101.5 Truckee Tahoe Radio is teaming with Bio-Bio Expeditions World Wide to give away an eight-day trip to Patagonia on the Futuleufu River — the grand prize in this summer’s Quality Automotive and Smog Big Black Box Drawing.

“The Everest” of whitewater rafting is the Futuleufu River, or “The Fu,” and one lucky listener and a friend will fly round-trip to an all-expense-paid week of rafting, fishing, yoga, kayaking, hiking and horseback riding in the 5-star Bio-Bio Expeditions camp on the riverside in Patagonia.

“Put your wallet away”, said Lorenzo Alvarez-Roos of Tahoe, co-owner of Bio-Bio. “It’s really intense activity, and really deep relaxation. Your Bio-Bio guides take care of you from dawn until midnight, from delivering tea to your bungalow at sun-up, to late-night dancing by the campfire.”

The drawing will be held Sept. 6. Listeners will be entered by calling 101.5 Truckee-Tahoe Radio when prompted. Other names will be added to the drawing each week at the location of the Quality Automotive and Smog Big Black Box, and still others will join the drawing by responding to the station’s weekly email blast to members of the 101.5 Truckee Tahoe Radio Fan Club.

“They’ll be stoked,” said Matt Heron, of Matt Heron Fly Fishing. “The Fu is one of the great fly-fishing destinations in the world.”

A runner-up prize in the drawing is a $250 gift certificate to the Sports Exchange in Truckee.
