2010 Olympic watch: Rahlves races to 2nd in World Cup ski cross qualifier

U.S. Ski Team report

ST. JOHANN, Austria and#8212; Truckee’s Daron Rahlves smoked a blazing run Monday to qualify second in an FIS Freestyle World Cup Ski Cross in St. Johann.

Germany’s Simon Stickl captured first place, while Swiss Michael Schmid was third in the qualifier.

American Casey Puckett qualified 13th, with J.J. Johnson also cracking the finals at 30th.

Night finals for the men get underway Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. Stay tuned for those results.
