22,500 Nevadans sign up for health insurance

A total of 22,517 people in Nevada signed up for health insurance using the Healthcare.gov platform, according to data released Wednesday, Nov. 22.

Open enrollment for the United States government-run marketplace started on Nov. 1. The marketplace gives users who don’t have health insurance to get coverage online.

Healthcare.gov provided the statistics.

As of Thursday morning, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nevada County had reached 5,159. There are 98 new cases since July 16, indicating a 2% increase over the last week.
