Air show soars above Tahoe this Saturday

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE The 18th annual Lake in the Sky Air Show is Saturday at Lake Tahoe Airport in South Lake Tahoe. Gates open to the public at 8 a.m. Parking is $10 and includes admission for everyone in the car. Walk-ins are $2. BlueGo will provide free round-trip bus transportation between the airport and the South Y from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.The high-altitude air show will include aerobatic performances by several of the top air show performers in the U.S., a huge display of military aircraft including AV-8 Harriers, F/A-18 Hornets, C-130 Hercules, H-1 Hueys, an AH-1 Cobra, H-60 Blackhawks and others. A C-17 fly-by and warbird fly-by are also planned. Several warbirds, including a T-33 that will compete in the upcoming Reno Air Races, amphibious aircraft, including two former grand champions from Oshkosh, Wis., home-built aircraft, law enforcement aircraft, rescue aircraft and others also will be on display.There will be simulated rescue and fire suppression demonstrations, CALSTAR will conduct the third annual flying 5-kilometer run, and Kiwanis will provide their famous pancake breakfast. There will be a motorcycle show-and-shine display, Navy Dive Tank with divers, U.S. Marine display, helicopter rides, food and other vendors and many other attractions.
