Slow Food Lake Tahoe’s fundraising dinner

Slow Food Lake Tahoe’s Cooking Outside the Box will celebrate local, seasonal and sustainably inspired food, wine and made-from-scratch cocktails. Join Slow Food Lake Tahoe and PlumpJack Café on June 18, 6-8 p.m. at PlumpJack Café Conference Center, 1920 Squaw Valley Road, for an evening of culinary creations with cooking demonstrations with: Chef Wyatt Dufresne of PlumpJack Café; Chef Elsa Corrigan of Mamasake; and Chef Dan McCabe of Rocker.

The evening will feature Sinclair Family Farms meats and produce from Mountain Bounty Farm and Tahoe Food Hub, paired with sustainably produced wines provided by Uncorked. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $55 for Slow Food Members and $65 for the general public at

Mountain bike performance training

Certified strength and conditioning specialist, chiropractor and avid mountain biker Spencer Cruttenden of Elemental Back & Body will add a new class to the CR Johnson Healing Center’s: Mountain Bike Performance Training every Wednesday, 5:30-6:30 p.m. this summer. Drop-in rate is $10. Class participants will work their way through a circuit-style routine leading to stronger legs, a stronger core and better balance and agility. Free community yoga on Wednesdays

Yoga Squaw’d will return to The Village at Squaw Valley providing free outdoor community yoga classes every Wednesday from June 18 through Aug. 27. The yoga classes are taught by some of Tahoe’s most esteemed instructors and will take place on First Street in The Village at 5 p.m. This is the second summer of Yoga Squaw’d, which is hosted by Squaw’s Wanderlust Yoga Studio.

In keeping with the spirit of Wanderlust’s fusion of yoga and music, all of the Yoga Squaw’d classes will feature musical accompaniment by a DJ or sound healer. The 75-minute classes will take place rain or shine. In the event of rain or cool temperatures, Yoga Squaw’d sessions will be moved to inside the Wanderlust Yoga Studio.

Ritz-Carlton yoga retreat weekend to offer day pass

The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe will host a retreat designed to awaken the senses and refocus the mind, body and spirit through meditation and daily yoga sessions June 13 to 15.
