Incline Village community notes: Dec. 16, 2015
Special to the Bonanza
I am going to predict that we will indeed have a white Christmas in Tahoe this year. That of course means all of the ski wear models will be in Raley’s too! To keep the holiday madness to a minimum, just go out and enjoy a snow day! Tahoe is a wonderful place to play.
Remember the Incline schools will wrap up for the holiday break this week. We hope everyone leaving to be with family and friends will have safe travels.
All of the holiday giving programs will be ending this week, so be sure to make your donations now. Today, Dec. 17, is the last day to deliver gifts for the Giving Tree at Lake Tahoe School. If you still want to participate and did not get a gift for the tree, monetary donations can still be sent or dropped off to Tahoe Family Solutions. For information call 775-298-0204.
From 5-8 p.m. tonight, Dec. 17, Farmers Insurance will host its annual holiday party at 770 Northwood Blvd. Stop in for food, beverages, raffle prizes, blind wine tasting and a photo booth with Mr. & Mrs. Claus.
There is still time to participate in the Holiday Bucks For Books program to provide new children’s books for each child at the Incline Elementary School. Help reach the goal of 1,700 books with a monetary donation. This is sponsored by the Read With Me Volunteer Program Fund held at the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation, AAUW and the ICBA. Call me at 775-298-0184 if you need more information. Please help support this new community tradition.
Welcome to all of the guests arriving in the village to spend the holidays with family and friends. I know that it will be busy at the Morrison home, as son Greg, daughter-in-law Melissa, and their new 10-week old granddaughter, Penelope Judith, from Santa Barbara will arrive to spend the holidays in Tahoe.
We do have birthdays this week: Judy Morrison on Dec. 17, and we understand Don Morrison is going to ignore his 80th on Dec. 18. Also, Wayne McClelland and Bailey Rector on Dec. 23. Happy Birthday!
The Deal or Steal for this week is to go to Easel and Wine and purchase a gift certificate for a future event. This is a great way for your friends, family and staff to have fun after the holidays. Contact Ann at Easel and Wine at easelandwine.com or call 775-831-2623.
As always send in your birthdays, anniversaries and news, along with the best deals or steals you can find, before 5 p.m. on Tuesday to firstname.lastname@example.org.
